This Food Byte comes to you from Australia.
In Australia, it’s important that you try Vegemite and Tim Tams. I gave both a try.
Time to chow down.

You can buy them in Toronto -so save that precious luggage space for other things!
Bahahaha, thats all I can say about the Veggimite!
Tim Tams, I fell in LOVE with those too! Delicious!!
I know you can find Veggimite in some Canadian stores, but I don’t personally know anyone that eats it here…I guess I leave that one off my list till I get to visit Australia! It doesn’t get the best reviews over here!
And I’ve had those TimTams on a Cathay Pacific flight to Hong Kong once and I ended up taking the entire plane’s reserve of them because I fell in love (with the TimTams, not a flight attendant!).
But how to you stay so skinny if you’re eating boxes of those things?!?!?!
Brock! You are too cute I loved this blog “Its an acquired taste…” lol
You’ll be happy to know that they now sell Tim Tams in Canada! Yay! They don’t have all 800 flavours, but you can get at least the original Tim Tams here.
Brock, i saw one too many jars of VEggimite on my trip through Europe last year… the Aussies are obsessed with it!!!!
Brock, Jeremy just showed me your site. Funny stuff! Looks like you are having a great time. Enjoy!!!!
Veggimite seems like a type of jam, or what is known to us as jam, just made out of vegetables. Sounds interesting!!
@Mal – Ya, I did the Veggimite for you sis. Thanks for the experience.
@Darren – I too have fallen in love with TimTams. As for staying skinny…I have no idea. I eat and eat and eat – and am skinny skinny skinny.
@Shannon – It most certainly is!
@Corey – Oh…really? I think we just found a great Welcome Home Brock gift. Pah!
@Heather – Seriously? I just don’t get it. It’s Yeast. Then again..I am sure we have something similar they cringe at.
@Mrs. Roberston – Thanks for checking things out. I am certainly having a blast!
@Ryan – Ya you could say that. Like a spread. I think it’s Yeast. Is yeast a vegetable?
@Jen – Oh thank goodness.
I as an Australian native will always tell ppl when i’m overseas that Vegemite is the best bcos it’s un-aussie not to say that LOL. It is definitely an acquired taste i don’t even have a jar of it at home at the moment maybe once every couple of years i’ll pull out the vegimite on toast! Though it is good on toast with strips of cheese then grilled, affectionately known as tiger toast!!!
@Sasha – Tiger Toast eh? You know, I might still give that a try.
@Corey – Where can you buy Tim Tam’s in Canada? I must find some here!
Hey,
heres a link about finding tim tams in the t.o.

@Emily – Perfect!
Great site Brock… u don’t know me, but I work with some of the teachers that use to teach you. Wanted to let ppl know that you can buy Tim Tams at the Great Cdn superstore… original and chewy caramel flavour. I LOVE them… you can also get them in the UK, so get ready to eat them again! Oh ya, and just a suggestion, if you can make it to France in July, catch some of the Tour de France. Best bike race ever and the greatest fans ever! Enjoy
@Tracy – Thanks so much for tuning in. I have a hunch who those teachers are. I certainly will pick up more Tim Tam’s (in fact I did in Thailand) and if I can swing my the Tour de France, I might just do it. Comment anytime!
Brock – I’m an Aussie, you barely even had any vege on your toast! I spread it thick as road tar every morning for breakfast
Oh, and by the way – it’s officially called a “Tim Tam slam”
@Janis – Really? You’re a champ! That’s right Tim Tam Slam! I found that out after recording this segment.
I’ve yet to go to Australia, but I’ve had tim tams. I know in Edmonton they sell them at Sobey’s. I’ve only seen the milk chocolate and caramel flavors, but it’s better than nothing. So yummy.
@Alouise – Hello Alouise, thanks for the comment. Yes, Tim Tams are marvelous. If you have only had the milk chocolate and caramel ones than I think you’re fine, those were my favourite.
Can’t. Do. Vegemite.
Gross.
@Erica – Admittedly, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
