Sukothai, Thailand – Standing Buddhas & Chicken on a Stick

On a short stop between Chiang Mai to Bangkok, I explore Sukothai, Thailand. It’s not as busy here as Chiang Mai, but there’s a sort of simplicity that makes it so enjoyable. There are a number temples and Buddha’s to explore in Sukotai, many of which I got to see.
In particular, the standing Buddha, Wat Si Chum, stood out among the rest.

    Ha Ha nice cows?? brock you might have a tough time milking a couple of those. They looked pretty well hung:D
    half points for the effort. Your videos are getting better all the time keep up the good work. How come you only meet pretty ladies from other countries?? Can you find a hockey game any where/. Go Canada gold!!

    @Larry – Yes, I realize they weren’t really much use in my bet, but I am working on it. As for the pretty ladies, they are fun to travel with and usually more outgoing hence why I stick with them I presume. There is no hockey in SEAsia but I have caught a glimpse or two on TV.     Brace yourself: I have alot to say about this video!!

    #1. They do have very interesting cabs there!! It must have been an amazing experience to ride in it!!!

    #2. I noticed, when you were paning down the road when in the cab I think, every house has a low roof!! Is there any reason to this, or was it just that city??

    #3. At the market, near the end of the asile, that lady waved something in your face!! What was that?? Was it a form of greeting, or was she just doing that to get your attention?? Was she the lady who sold you the chicken on a stick?? At least the chicken that was on the stick WAS good!! Was it burnt, or did it just look like it?

    #4. The history festival of Sukothai looked pretty fun!! Those lanterns were interesting, esp. when they were let into the sky!! That looked beautiful!! Is that supposed to represent something?

    #5. Was that animal actually a cow?? Or something else?? It didn’t look like a cow!!

    #6. The moat at the temples, and the temples themseleves were very cool. The big buddhas were cool!!

    #7. Was that car that appeared right after the temples a car? Or what? Those “cows” chasing you was kind of amusing to watch, but was probably really scary to live, eh!! What were those bell sounds when you were running away from them?? Are they out in the lose around Thailand?

    #8. Those two Austrians seemed nice, and the Thai woman was very good, to say the least!!

    #9. Holy CRAP!!! That buddha was HUMONGOUS!!! You must’ve felt intimidated!!! LOL. Do you have the picture of the monk in front of the buddha?? Or did you take it on his camera? If you have it, can you put in on the site?

    #10. Alot of people seem to visit Thailand, or maybe it’s just a coincidence that you ran into so many different people!! I mean, there were Germans, you being Canadian, Austrians, and that French lady!!

    Great video overall Brock!! Like the ending alot (sunset)!!!!!

    @Ryan – Wow. you just took the prize for the biggest comment yet. Awesome. Here goes my longest comment yet:
    #1. More like terrifying every time cabs.
    #2. The houses in general in Thailand didn’t have high roofs no.
    #3. That thing the lady waved was a long stick with a plastic bag on the end. The purpose, to get the flies off the meat she was trying to sell. Cringe. The chicken was not bought from her but the lady a few stalls down. It thankfully wasn’t too burnt.
    #4. If I am not mistaken people send their wishes up into the air with the lanterns. Though I could be mistaken.
    #5. Yes, it certainly was a cow. Well, actually a bull.
    #6. Loved the big buddhas.
    #7. That was actual a tractor if you would believe it. The bells were around the cattle’s necks. I think they were in some sort of fence but I wouldn’t trust it.
    #8. They were super cool and she ended the night so well.
    #9. I was quite overwhelmed by the buddha that I just stood and stared for quite some time. I have a photo of the buddha I believe. I’ll post it when I get my albums working.
    #10. You would be shocked by the number of different countries I have seen represented in Thailand.

    #1. LOL, you must have felt like you were going to fall out of those cabs every time you went to ride in them.

    #3. I can imagine that there were alot of flies at that market! A nice technique!! Like I said, the chicken that was on the stick was good!!

    #4. That’s not out of the ordinary!! It’s like people sending ballons into the air on their birthday!! It looked amazing!!!

    #5. I guess our cows look different!? Their ears especially. Was it actually a jersey cow, or just a random cow?

    #6. Everyone watching also loved the big buddhas!! But you had the best experience :)

    #7. A tractor!? Okay…..I should’ve thought about the bells around the cows’ necks!! Sorry.
