Since leaving our little Indian village, Jaipur will be our 3rd stop. Known as the Pink City, Jaipur is located in the state of Rajasthan and gets it’s name from the many pink buildings and pink walls that border the old city.
It is here I see my first camel, stay at the fantastic Pearl Palace Hotel and visit the monkey temple!

I loved Jaipur, but I wanted more pink! Haha!
Brock – that was the wrong monkey temple. The real one is just outside of Jaipur. There wasn’t 10 000 monkeys there but there were a lot.
I think he was at the right place, the area Brock visited was the area we decided was too hot to keep going and see the city view.
Brock had you continued down the the path you would have hit the area with all the monkeys (but I totally get the heat factor!)
@Andi – YES! I felt exactly the same. I thought there should be more pink. Pink everywhere!
@Alex – Yes, we were outside of Jaipur.
@Lesley – Ah, yes, of course they are always hiding a few steps further. And the heat was nearly unbearable. The Monsoon was just a few days behind us so it was at it’s height. I’ll imagine the 10,000 monkeys.
