TRIP PLANNING

I’m a personal trainer for your adventure.

A travel agent books flights. A guidebook suggests where to go. I help you plan your trip, making sure you are prepared and confident before you depart, I remove the stress and make the planning stages fun and efficient.

My job is to teach you everything from how to book a flight and what to pack, to how to save money and where to stay.

There are so many things you can do before leaving for your trip to make sure it runs smoothly and it’s more challenging than it needs to be.

“Brock did an amazing job preparing me for my trip and helping me remain stress free while saving money along the way! He also helped me build up my confidence and my own abilities as a backpacker.” – Josh

I am Energized and Passionate.

This is going to be fun. I mean it. Planning should be as enjoyable as your actual trip, getting you excited for the adventure that awaits you. Because I live for travelling, I’m going to remove the stress of planning so you can have fun putting your trip together.

Are you a bit stressed about doing everything right? I can help you with that.

I’m a Professional Traveller

I am very lucky to have travelled to 69 countries on 6 continents (so far).

Italy, Thailand, Brazil, India, Kenya, Japan, Mexico, Australia: the list is long.

In that time I have learned so much about how to travel smartly, save money, stay safe, and have countless ‘experiences of a lifetime.’

I now want to share what I’ve learned with other travellers so that they to can have the best trip possible.

“Even though I have just begun my coaching sessions with Brock, I am already feeling more confident about my travels. I am less stressed about the planning process because I know that I have someone who is experienced to guide me.” – Shannon

I’ve Got You Covered

In 69 countries of travel, I’ve made the mistakes so you don’t have to. It’s my job to answer all your questions. To dot the i’s and cross the t’s. I think it’s important that you plan your trip so you can really own it, but I’ll be there every step of the way to hold your hand.

Just some of the things we’ll cover:

– What To Pack – Booking Accommodation – Visas –

– Safety – Budgeting – Vaccinations – Flights –

– Building an Itinerary – Legalities – Banking – Insurance –

– Communication – Tech – Saving –

What is Gap Year Advising?

When I was planning my first big trip I was frustrated that l had no one to help me plan it. Travel agents wanted to sell me expensive tours and I didn’t know anyone who had backpacked or that had the time to answer a million questions. When I got home I decided to take everything I’d learned on the road and help others like me (like you!) plan their big adventures.

How does Gap Year Advising Work?

The concept is rather simple. Once we decide what kind of assistance will work best for you, we will set up a series of lessons, covering anything and everything you can think of. It doesn’t matter where in the world you are, as long as you have an internet connection we’re good to go!
Through each session we will work together to plan the many aspects of your trip so that you depart confident and ready! Remember, you are still planning your trip – it’s more rewarding that way – and I will give you the tools you need, dot the i’s and cross the t’s. I’m about to become your newest friend. Laughs guaranteed.

“I’m on a budget, can I afford this?”

This is one of the most common questions I get, so don’t be afraid to ask it. I have been in your exact shoes. I was finishing my degree, work a low paying job and trying to save as much money for my trip as I could. The idea of spending money before leaving freaked me out. For that reason, one of my missions is to save travellers more money than my trip planning cost them. So far, 100% success. Don’t stress about money – I’ve got you covered.
