Arriving in the capital of the country, I quickly met up with my friends Alejandro and Heather.
A native of Lima, Alejandro showed me the ins and outs of the city and made sure I had the best visit possible.
Heather and I checked out a few museums, ate some traditional Peruvian food and strolled through the streets.
One of my favourite memories is eating ice cream in Miraflores, wearing shorts and sitting next to a Santa. Christmas was upon us but I was dressed like it was summertime – because it was in this hemisphere.
A bizzarre experience for a Canadian as these two things don’t usually go hand in hand.
