The Friday 5 – The Foods You Miss While Traveling

Brock is hungry this week on the Friday Five!
Being away from home for an extended period of time, you start to get cravings for the foods you’re used to enjoying all the time. When you can’t find them abroad or they cost a fortune, you just have to deal with it.
What foods would you miss?

  1. Enjoy following you around the world. Hope you are feeling better, was worried when you were sick. Be careful!! and enjoy this year of your life. You are amazing!! From the Hayes Family.

  2. Sounds like the list that Ty, Jenn and Lindsey would have too. Ian would miss the PB the most as well. But that wouldn’t be my list. I would miss real hot tea made in family or friends kitchen, not a restaurant or Timmy’s. When travelling, I just miss home cooking and properly prepared vegetables.

  3. Me, I would miss a couple of homemade foods the most. My dad’s meatballs and my mom’s lasagne!! Umm…

Another question. Do you film the Friday Five the Friday you put it up?? On another site (maybe the regular Vimeo site) the videos come up earlier.

  4. I can tell you its not so much that I miss most of the foods I love but it is very expensive to get most of the things I miss more than unable to get it. So I understand how you feel I must say at times I miss foods but I will bet most places if you had a kitchen you would be able to get some of it. but just think its only a year for you.

By the way I think you should change your plans somewhat and finish your trip by coming to Jamaica you are welcome to stay at my place!!

  5. @Teresa – Yes, thankfully some friends from Canada I met up with left me with some Peanut Butter. I miss properly prepared vegetables or rather the certainty that they wont make me sick.

  6. @Ryan – Mmmm lasagne. Thanks for the reminder. Yes sometimes the videos are made in advance for a variety of reasons. You are likely looking at my vimeo page.

  7. @Amanda – Ya, I have seen things but they cost a fortune. I think I can survive. No, I know I can survive. I’ll see how things pan out, you never know. Maybe Jamaica is possible. I’ll keep you posted.
