Sometimes it fun. Sometimes it difficult. Some would rather fly solo. Others wouldn’t have it any other way.

Great practical tips. Being open is really important, and honestly something i struggle with because I tend to just go with whatever everyone wants just to keep the peace. I think it’s also important (if you’re taking a big trip with someone) to talk about things beforehand. I had a couple of friends who started fighting about travel plans before they left, it’s important to get a good idea of what everyone expects from the trip.
@Alouise – Ya, I am very easy going myself. Luckily I enjoy pretty much everything, so I am rarely disappointed.
I don’t think anyone should be afraid of travelling alone. Obviously, depending on where you’re going, there are some safety concerns that should be pondered! But for the most part, most places are pretty good for solo travellers.
I think people should take the plunge and at least try it. I think most people would find out that they enjoy the freedom that comes with it.
AND if you’re backpacking/staying at hostels, if you don’t want to keep travelling alone, you don’t need to for long! Most hostels have excursions you can take which can be a great way to meet other travellers….who might just become your next travel buddy!
@Darren – Great points Darren. I was worried about traveling alone and whether I would meet people. Not a problem.
