The Friday Five – The Best Things in My Pack

You guessed it. It’s the Friday Five!
When you’re backpacking for a long time, you tend to really like and dislike some things in your backpack.
In this edition of the Friday Five, I’d like to share with you 5 of my favourite things in my backpack and why I think they are so great.
What would be your favourites?

  1. Might I add, That beautiful flag of yours that made number 1 wouldn’t be there if it wasn’t for your kind and caring baby sister of yours. Thats right people he would not have gotten to where he is today if it wasn’t for me!! I do love how you are using the flag as your signature good on ya! Keep being proud of our counrty!
    Go Canada Go!!

  2. I still think that the tripod looks like something else… but whatever, i’m glad it made the list because I kinda forgot how funny it is.

  3. Idea for Friday Five – something to do with music, I am sure that you will enter a country that there pop music taste is different then ours, might be fun to learn the top 5 songs of a different country!

  4. @Mal – Yes. I can’t believe I didn’t mention that. The big flag was given to me by my little sis Mal. Thanks so much. I take it everywhere with me. I’m still trying to convince her to meet me somewhere in the world.

  5. Brock,
What might work well is a monthly rotation of Friday Fives

ie 1st Friday – Top 5 sites/sights of the month
2nd Friday – Top 5 cultural experiences of the month (unique customs, traditions, foods, music etc)
3rd Friday – Top Fact is stranger than Fiction experiences/discoveries of the month.
4th Friday – Potpourri for the month

    Just a thought.

  6. @Teresa – What an interesting idea. I am going to ponder on that one. Once I visit some more places, that might be very possible and cool.

  7. I’ve been looking around your site and it’s really great. As a fellow Canadian I love that the flag was number 1. And that pen for the water seems like a great idea. Do you have a link where it can be purchased?

  8. @Alouise – Good to hear from a fellow Canadian. I am very proud of my flag. The pen is fantastic, I shall post the link below when I find it. in the meantime, I got it at Mountain Equipment Co.

  9. @Jenneil – Thanks so much Jenneil! Great feature. When I finish my own, I certainly hope to link to your post to give viewers more info.

  10. Going over your videos! This is very good, definatly going to have to pick your brains for my trip 🙂
