It’s official. I have been backpacking for 7 months now. I feels like yesterday the Friday Five was celebrating 6 months – where does the time go? This week on the Friday Five, it’s the 5 things I am looking forward to most about going home. There’s a lot of things that day by day, are really getting ‘old’. Changing hostels every couple days, eating in restaurants and so on. The great thing about all this stuff however, is that I get to look forward to many things I took for granted and likely wished I didn’t have to do, back at home.
What would you look forward to upon your arrival home?
Oh dear Brock….
As a good Canadian boy, you forgot 1 thing that you *must* be looking forward to:
TIM HORTONS!
When i travel, it is the first place I stop when I get back to the Edmonton/Toronto/Etc airport! Nothing is as good as a Large 2 cream 1 sugar and a sour cream glazed donut! 🙂
I’m sure almost every Canadian agrees with Donna: Tim Hortons is a must upon most Canadians’ return!
And even though ALL the comforts of home are amazing to go home to, often when I get home a week or two will pass and the travel bug will hit me again!
Sometimes the nice thing about home is that it’s always there and always the same. Sometimes the nice thing about travel is that things are always changing. I guess it’s the people that like the change that are the travellers like Brock and the 700 people that follow him on this site!
Brock,
It was nice to meet you in passing at the forum in Rome. It sounds like you are continuing to have a great time. Watching this top 5 video definitely summed up how I felt after just a few weeks. I couldn’t imagine a whole year.
I really did miss talking with friends, family, and coworkers. And now that we are back, I am already thinking about where to go next as well!
I still owe you some information about our travel in London and Paris. I will email you soon.
Wishing you the best and safe travels!
Jason
