Mendoza and Salta, Argentina – A Wine Tour on a Bicycle – Nuff Said!

Easily one of the best days of my entire trip around the world was when I visited Mendoza, Argentina to do a wine tour.
But this wasn’t just any wine tour. Not only do you enjoy glass after glass of delicious wine but you get to do it on a bicycle!!

Amazing, right?

After Katie, Leila and I said farewell to Julia in Buenos Aires, Argentina, we hopped on yet another overnight bus to get to Mendoza.
Breakfast came early, as did our arrival.

You see, we had to get there as soon as possible to ensure we’d be on a bike and drinking by 10…am.

Sure enough, we found Mr. Hugo’s bike rentals and hit the wineries like pros. Glass after glass of beautiful malbecs hit the spot but each time we re-mounted our wheels the shenanigans got even more out of hand.

In no time at all we were singing and laughing and swerving around the road. How this concept is legal I have no idea. Fortunately, we all came out alive.

Once I said farewell to Katie and Leila who were off to Santiago, Chile to catch a flight to New Zealand, I took another overnight bus north to Salta. There I stayed with the oh-so-lovely Leigh of The Future is Red and her fun filled family who relocated from the U.S. to Argentina.

It’s not everyday you get to dance around to Boney M as part of a morning routine.

Thanks for taking such good care of me and making me feel right at home during my last days in Argentina.

Next stop: Bolivia!
