Well hello there! Thank you for checking out my very first video here on Backpack With Brock. I had made a promise to myself a while back that I would record and post a video by December 1st and alas, here it is. You can watch it below:
In a month I am setting out on a trip around the world. I have 6 continents and 24 countries on the docket and I am sure that will change many times.
I am realizing there is so much planning going on, from figuring out flights to what to pack, to vaccinations – setting off on a year around the world is no small feat and everything seems to take more time than you plan it to.
As I continue to put this trip together and prepare for departure I will make more videos on the different aspects of making an around the world trip happen.
I am excited to be able to bring you along on this adventure and there are quite a few ways you can stay in touch, get updates and so on. First, you can join my newsletter by subscribing with your email. Next, as I post both videos and written posts, please feel free to share them on whichever social media channel you prefer, there are buttons on this page to make that easier.

I am happy to answer any questions you might have or simply hear from you that you are enjoying coming along for the adventure.
I also love suggestions, so, if you have any tips, ideas or what not that you would like to send me for a country or place I am visiting do not hesitate to do so. There are so many spots I will be visiting on this trip that I truly know nothing about and as much as I try to research and plan, it can be quite overwhelming.
Finally, I want to thank you for checking out Backpack With Brock and your interest in following the adventure. This is a project I am beyond thrilled to be starting and at the same time, a bit nervous because no one has done it before. Attempting to video blog my way around the world could be biting off more than I can choose but I am certainly up for the challenging. Armed with my laptop, camera and backpack, I hope to show you corners of the globe that perhaps you have heard of and dream to visit and others that you maybe didn’t even know exist.
I will leave it at that for now, but again, my sincerest thanks for joining me on this backpacking adventure. It’s going to be a blast!
