Keep these tips in mind and life will be a whole lot easier. Easier, not easy.

  1. What happened to your recording stand ~ feet for your camera, that clip was a bit shaky.

Also, don’t shake with left hand as it is seen as an insult to the person you are offering your hand to. You may unknowingly offend someone if you don’t know certain social conventions.

  2. Thanks for the tips Brock….but I don’t think I’ll be needing any…..not planning a trip to India….ever!! I would not last a week!!!

  3. PERFECT tip about the scarf! Though, yes, it can be a fashion statement, it’s also amazingly useful for backpackers, especially in India.

Another reason: if you ever get an A/C train/bus in India it can often get REALLY cold and it’s nice to have something to wrap up in.

Yeah…that left-hand thing. Usually locals are pretty understanding and some DO even use it to break bread at meals, but it’s definately something to be aware of.

A nice thing in India is that almost ALL restaurants have hand-washing stations where you can cleanse your hands before your meal because there is no cutlery provided.

  4. Your welcome!! I’m glad it came in so useful 🙂 !
Please re remind me about the hand thing if I ever visit India . .
    Hope your well dude 🙂

  5. @Teresa – Yes, I have heard that about the hand as well. Sometimes you have to be very sensitive with cultures ways of greeting. It’s tricky to stay on top of it all. As well, I think I was actually using the tripod…maybe my arm was tired.

  6. @Shelly – Oh Shelly, your boys would take care of you. That said, there are TONS of other places to go in this world that aren’t ‘India.’

  7. @Darren – That’s right I forgot about the hand washing stations. Though I still never felt clean. Hand sanitizer for sure. And yes, the buses can get chilly, anywhere really, so the scarf is a bonus there.

  8. @Benjamin – I will. Certainly something you don’t want to forget. And thank you again, I use that darn scarf almost everyday, especially on travel days now.
